The history of skyscrapers in Dubai started with the construction of Dubai World Trade Center setingi 149-meter (489 ft) in 1979, considered the first skyscraper in the city. At completion, this building also stands as the tallest building in the Middle East. Since 1999, and especially from 2005 onwards, Dubai has season giant skyscraper, with 22 buildings over 200 meters (656 ft) is finished after 1999. Dubai currently has 352 high-rise building completed, but this number will increase rapidly in the future. With 302 high-rise buildings being built, and approved 350 high-rise buildings, the ceiling of Dubai grows rapidly. The building is planned to rise as high as 162 and 818 meters (2.684 ft), be free standing land structure in the world's highest in September 2007, defeating the CN Tower 553-meter-high (1,815 ft) in Toronto, Canada. The building was too high beat Taipei 101, the world's tallest building, in July 2007. However, after the completed structure is only referred to as "building", the Burj Dubai unofficially earned the world's tallest building until completion in 2009. In April 2008, Burj Dubai becomes tallest man-made structure in the world, defeated the KVLY-TV tower in Blanchard, North Dakota, United States. Dated May 19, 2008, the tower is high over Warsaw radio tower (demolished) in Konstantynów, Gabin, Poland, the tallest artificial structure in the history of the height of 649.7 meters (2.131 ft). Nakheel Tower is the development of other Supertall buildings planned in Dubai. Height 1.400 meters (3.938 ft), building would beat the Burj Dubai and become the world's tallest structure when completed.
