Skyscraper is a very tall building. A convention in the United States and Europe now have described the minimum height of the building that can be called a skyscraper that is 150 meters (500 feet). Skyscrapers exceeding the height of 300 meters is called supertall. Some of the shorter buildings can sometimes also referred to as building a skyscraper if it dominates the surrounding area. The word skyscraper was first used in high-rise buildings at the end of the 19th century, represents the public admiration at the tall buildings built in the City of New York.
