Muslim World

Countries with majority Muslim citizens and green-colored 50% Muslim yellow

The Muslim world is a term that has several meanings. Culturally, this term refers to the global Muslim community, followers of Islamic teachings. This community numbered approximately 1.3-1.4 billion people, or one-fifth of the world population. This community is widespread in many countries and ethnic group associated with religion. In terms of history or geopolitics, the term usually refers to the Muslim majority countries or countries prominent in political Islam.

Global Muslim community is also known collectively as the "ummah". Islam emphasizes the combination and defense fellow Muslims, although there are several divisions of Islam (such as the separation of Sunni-Shia). In the past, the ideology of "pan-Islamism" and nationalism has affected the Muslim world.
