The World Island




    The World is a collection of 300 man-made islands shaped world map currently being built off the coast of Dubai. United Arab Emirates.
    The World meruakan one of a variety of artificial island projects in Dubai, along with the Palm Islands, and like the other islands The World is built primarily using sand dredged from the seabed. The World is the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's leaders.
    Each island size from 23.000 m² up to 84.000 m² (250000-900000 square feet or 5.7-21 acres), with a distance of 50-100 m of water between each island. This development will cover an area of 9 km in length and 6 km wide, surrounded by an oval breakwater.
    Inter-island transport is only by boat and helicopter. The price for each island ranging from $ 15-45 million (USD). The average price for a settlement will be approximately $ 25 million (USD). Dredging began in 2004 and in March 2007, The World is complete around 90%.

    One of the few confirmed development is the purchase of 14 islands that make up the Australian and New Zealand by Investment Dar. The islands are being adjusted to the specifications of investors to create 19 islands, which will be a resort named OQYANA.

    Irish business consortium, Larionovo has plans to make the island of 'Ireland' to be Irish-themed resort. This plan has included a large internal marina, apartments and villas, gymnasiums, hotels, and pubs of Ireland.     Cinnovation Group has acquired 37,000 square meters (400,000 square feet) of the island as part of projects worth $ 200 million USD. And a residential villa complex is being planned.
