A trip to the Dubai museum will give you a glimpse into Dubai's fascinating past. You can also visit Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum's house to view a collection of old photographs. The heritage and diving village at Dubai is a must see for all traditional arts and crafts lovers.

    The Gold Souk

There is a reason that Dubai is called the city of gold. With huge amounts of gold traded here, there are hundreds of shops selling jewellery. Even if you don't wish to buy, just walking through the souk itself is awesome experience.

    Dubai Ice Rink

The Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink, located in The Dubai Mall, provides a variety of offerings such as Public Skating Sessions, Disco Sessions, Learn-to-Skate packages, Birthday Party packages and Exclusive venue hire for corporate functions. With a seating capacity of 350, a giant 20m x 10m LED screen, an in-house café and The Skate Shop for all skating accessories and souvenirs, Dubai Ice Rink has become a social hotspot and a destination for year-round fun for everyone.

    Souk Al Bahar
A charming Arabesque mall within The Old Town Island, Souk Al Bahar brings an element of tradition to this vibrant, urban environment. While the selection of stores is truly modern and influential this lifestyle and shopping destination has been designed to create the trading atmosphere of the past with a number of traditional Arab architectural motifs.

    Outdoor Activities
    Tour of the city
The "Big Bus Tour" (Tel: 04 340 7709) gives a great overview of everything in Dubai over a couple of hours, and hop on and off the bus at the various points. The ticket now includes a separate tour which drives you to see the various hotels and the construction that is going on. The guides are very knowledgeable, and with your ticket valid for 24 hours, this could cover all tourist stuff in one go.

    Desert Safari

Go dune bashing through the wadis of the desert, which can be alikened to the thrill of a rollercoaster. Tours usually include the opportunity to sand surf down a large hill, watch the sunset from the camp, and have a traditional Bedouin style dinner by moonlight, often accompanied by a nubile belly danced. It's probably enough to go for the evening, but many do the full day trip, as well as camp overnight in the tents.
